Mellow - The smart sous-vide cooking machine

So, after years of trial by fire, you’ve finally conquered the art of grilling. Congrats. But this is no time to rest on your charcoal-stained laurels; it’s time to master a new way to cook. Sous-vide, anyone? For the unfamiliar, sous-vide involves cooking food in airtight plastic bags in water. And if that sounds a little risky to you, check out Mellow.

Mellow aims to make cooking sous-vide simple and smart. When you drop a bag of food in the H2O, Mellow senses that and notifies you of the change. You then open the app, tell Mellow what it is you’re cooking, when you want it ready, and how you want it cooked, then, just walk away. When you come back you’re promised to have perfectly cooked chicken, fish, eggs, whatever. Pre-order now for $400 and you’ll undoubtedly become the first sous-vide superstar on your block. They’ll probably name a street after you. Watch the video below. [Purchase]

2015 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition

Thankfully, those rumors about Ford looking to celebrate the Mustang’s 50th anniversary by offering half-priced pony rides at participating dealers were completely false. Instead, Ford is doing it right by releasing the 2015 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition.

Just announced at the New York Auto Show, this version is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback. Notable additions include a cashmere-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel; seats with the Mustang 50 Year logo; and an owner’s guide in a leather portfolio with the 50 Year badge on the outside. It’ll be available in either Wimbledon White or Kona Blue, with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, and once it showrooms this fall, you’ll have to act fast—only 1,964 cars are being built. That number is a nod to 1964, when the Mustang was first shown to the public at the ’64 World’s Fair. [Purchase]

Gravity-Defying Land Art by Cornelia Konrads

German artist Cornelia Konrads creates mind-bending site-specific installations in public spaces, sculpture parks and private gardens around the world. Her work is frequently punctuated by the illusion of weightlessness, where stacked objects like logs, fences, and doorways appear to be suspended in mid-air, reinforcing their temporary nature as if the installation is beginning to dissolve before your very eyes. One of her more recent sculptures, Schleudersitz is an enormous slingshot made from a common park bench, and you can get a great idea of what it might be like to sit inside it with this interactive 360 degree view.

What you see here only begins to sratch the surface of Konrad’s work. You can see much more on her website. All imagery courtesy the artist.

URB-E - Amazing Folded Electric Bike..!!

URB-E has a 20 mile range on a single charge, a top speed of 15mph, and can fold small enough to fit next to you on a train or bus.

Urb-E is an electric scooter designed for maximum range and portability. The scooter charges in three hours and travels up to 20 miles per charge, at a speed of 15 miles per hour. It can be controlled via smartphone, using the Urb-E App to monitor battery charge, range, speed, LED lighting, music, and navigation. The smartphone dock also charges one’s phone, so using the scooter won’t drain power. Riding the scooter won’t limit mobility, either. The recyclable, aircraft-grade aluminum frame folds up, so that it can be taken almost anywhere one needs to go. Collapsing within a minute, the razor scooter can be brought on a bus or train with no hassle to the owner and without crowding other travelers. As the scooter weighs just 27 lbs., it can also be carried indoors, safely on one’s person at all times. The frame comes in MRDR Black, Carbon Grey, Cloud White, Polished Gold, or Go Green, and is accented by dots of black, blue, white, pink, yellow, or orange. Additionally, each scooter comes with a set of clear sleeves, which can be customized and inserted in place of the standard accents. Soon to be available in three-wheeled Commuter and two-wheeled GP models, the Urb-E is currently campaigning for support on indiegogo.
