Everyday Items Turned into Playful Characters by Gilbert Legrand

French artist and designer Gilbert Legrand uses familiar to all of us objects to create—mostly  by painting them—some  really interesting characters.

It is a usual thing for artists to see in common objects something else. The feature of Gilbert Legrand is the fact that he offers everything he sees to his viewer. Scissors, brushes, zippers, cutlery; everything has a life of its own. Gilbert was born and raised in Paris, but moved into the provincial town of Toulouse. Here he works as a freelance illustrator, and at the same time exhibits his works in various galleries around the country.

Stop Illegal Wildlife Trade

WWF is leading a global campaign to stop wildlife crime. Illegal wildlife trade has exploded to meet increasing demand for elephant ivory, rhino horns, and tiger products, particularly in Asia. Controlled by dangerous crime syndicates, wildlife is trafficked much like drugs or weapons. Wildlife criminals often operate with impunity, making the trade a low-risk/high-profit business. Today, it is the fifth most profitable illicit trade in the world, estimated at up to $10 billion annually.
